Jewelry Box
This fine jewelry box is made from Spalted Texas Pecan panels framed in Ziricote. The spalting in the Pecan is made by a fungus that grows in the wood during the drying process. The growth of the fungus colors the naturally light wood to many darker shades and leaves behind dark lines that look like an artist has drawn a pattern in pen and ink. This rare variety of wood produces "pictures" that only nature could compose. The Ziricote or Canalete (cordia spp) is a native wood of the tropical regions of the western hemisphere.
